"Want to make the most out of your Orientation experience? Get a head start and apply for an FPOP! "

The sun is shining in Cambridge today!  A sure sign that summer is finally headed our way.  If you are like me, and you just can't wait for the fun to begin, why not apply to participate in an FPOP and get an early start to your time at MIT?

WHAT IS AN FPOP?

An FPOP, Freshman Pre-Orientation Program, is a great way to kick off your career at MIT and meet a new group of friends!  This summer, twenty-two FPOPs will be offered- each focused on a different academic area or leadership, social, athletic or service-related activity.  These programs will give students the opportunity to get acquainted with MIT while doing something amazing!  You can build an underwater vehicle, sail in the Atlantic Ocean, play robotic soccer, visit a nuclear reactor, swing through a ropes course or travel to Yellowstone.  Jump in! Get involved! You'll be glad that you did.

IMPORTANT FPOP INFO:

The DEADLINE to apply for an FPOP is Friday, JUNE 17th, 2011.

These programs are NOT first come, first serve, so take your time on the application!

For an application or more info on each program's activities, arrival dates and costs visit the FPOP page: http://mit.edu/firstyear/2015/orientation/fpops/index.html

When do we find out if we got into an FPOP or not? I want to buy plane tickets early, but can only do that if I know that I am definitely going to be able to attend an FPOP.

What time today should we have FPOP results by? Will they send us an email if we don't get in to any of the ones we applied to? If not, when should we assume that we didn't get in anywhere?

So, I applied for an FPOP and got to the page that said you should receive a confirmation e-mail shortly, I never got that e-mail. I didn't bring it up until now, but who would I e-mail/call to ask about this...?
